Zaliznyak is called the Ukrainian "ginseng" in modern folk medicine. It is one of the amazing plants that grow in Ukraine, especially widespread in Crimea. Why is it called that? Because its vitality is so great that it grows right through stones. In folk medicine, it is used in decoctions to treat various gastrointestinal diseases: gastritis, duodenitis, stomach ulcers, even post-pregnancy. Zaliznyak normalizes the function of digestive organs, treats the walls of the stomach and intestines, and protects against irritation.
Flavonoids in its composition are natural antioxidants, have antibacterial and choleretic properties, strengthen capillaries, and slow blood clotting. Mucilages have coating and immunomodulating properties, providing pain relief and antiemetic effects.
Bitters increase appetite and restore intestinal microflora.
Calendula is used in practical medicine to treat gastritis, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, and diseases of the bile ducts.
Thanks to tannins, calendula infusion is effective for diarrhea and other digestive disorders. Calendula promotes bile release, lowers blood pressure. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines, enhancing bile production and secretion as well as increasing the secretory activity of the stomach.
